We collected our hire car and headed to Ypres for 2 nights via Reims where we visited the Tattinger Champagne House. Driving through Menin Gate was surreal.
We were staying within 10 minutes walk of Menin Gate and attended the moving Last Post Service each night at 8pm with hundreds of other visitors. The Cloth House museum was spectacular. In Belgium, English is spoken in hotels, shops & restaurants as well as Dutch and Flemish.
